About me
Hi! I'm Sophie Rapmund
I grew up in The Hague with a lifelong passion for the arts. As a kid, I spent most of my days drawing. Still, I love to spend my free time painting, making small furniture from wood and playing hockey. Another strong passion of mine is travel. I love exploring the world with my backpack, meeting new people, and delving into the nuances of human behavior. I'm intrigued by what drives people, what makes them tick, and how they can be challenged. Brand strategy unifies these interests while giving me the intellectual challenge that enables me to thrive. Those who know me often describe me as cheerful, creative, socially intelligent, relaxed, nurturing, and occasionally stubborn.
Throughout my studies, I developed a deep understanding of various marketing disciplines. My bachelor’s degree in Communication Science provided a solid foundation in consumer psychology and the core principles of persuasive communication. I had the opportunity to put this knowledge into practice during my internship at Fitzroy, a creative strategy agency, where I not only honed my skills but also discovered a passion for graphic design. This led me to pursue courses in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Wanting to gain a broader perspective, I also completed a minor in Business Administration, which gave me insight into the marketing process from a managerial standpoint. With digital marketing becoming increasingly vital, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in the field to stay ahead of the curve.
Currently, I’m working at Kinesso (IPG Mediabrands) to gain further experience in business processes, project management, production, and strategy. This role allowed me to apply and expand my skills in a dynamic environment. Now, I'm eager to take the next step in my career.

My take on brand strategy

Wherever we look, we are bombarded by logo's, ads and messages begging for our attention. But attention is scarce and must be earned. So how does a brand cut through the clutter and stand out? In my opinion, the strongest brands are the ones that dare to take a stand. The secret to standing out and being remembered lies in connecting with your target audience. From that starting point, the understanding of a brands' target group, their challenges and its relevant societal trends is the foundation of a great brand strategy.
To me, every brand is a puzzle that I want to solve; uncovering where its core challenge lies and connecting that with consumer insights to build brands with a soul and purpose. A strategy that looks beyond the short term and can be worked with over time to make the brand future ready. This takes focus, conviction, amazement, decisiveness, cooperation and a bit of intuition. But above all it requires making choices. Consistent choices that anchor brands more firmly.
